Regional Manager - Minnesota

There are few employees at Hegenes who exemplify our motto, “People Serving People,” more than Grant. He has dedicated much of his life to serving people because, to him, serving people brings with it more joy and contentment than any accolades or wealth the world could ever provide.

Part of Grant’s skillset includes an entrepreneurial attitude. Out of college, he started a non-profit before going down to Texas to start a church, both of which are still thriving! A quote that defines his mindset at work is from Lewis Caralla - “Lazy people do a little work, and think that they should be winning. But winners work as hard as possible and still worry about being lazy.”

His hard-working and decisive personality while also cultivating creativity and hospitality led to an opportunity at Hegenes in 2021 where Grant helped to launch a 411-unit addition to Hegenes’ portfolio in Northfield, Minnesota. After leading a great crew in this successful operation, Grant was promoted in February 2023 to Regional Manager of all Minnesota properties.

But the promotion won’t distract him from the other hobbies in life that he cares about, like watching sports or the southern-style smoking of brisket, ribs, pork & chicken. And there is still nothing he’d rather do than spend time serving his family – his wife Alissa and three boys, Henry, Harrison and Jack.

Zack

Maintenance Supervisor - Minneapolis Metro Locations

When Hegenes expanded to include a Northfield Portfolio, Zack was brought on as a Maintenance Technician. Shortly thereafter, we realized that Zack had a driven, caring and reliable personality that was a perfect fit as a Maintenance Lead.

Zack is proud to help lead such a talented, fun and motivated team that is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of residents who live at our properties. He serves people because having a positive impact on someone's life reminds you of the value you bring as a person and it gives your life purpose.

Other things that give him purpose are spending time with his wonderful daughter or enjoying the outdoors, where he likes to spend time on the lake in both the summer and, daringly, in the winter. Weather is no excuse for him. In fact, he lives his life by saying, "if you really want to do something, you'll find a way... if you don't, you'll find an excuse."

Steve

Senior Maintenance Supervisor - Minneapolis Metro Locations

Steve joined Hegenes Properties in August of 1998 and is one of our most long term and dedicated employees. His greatest joy comes from helping others out because he loves to see BIG smiles and hear a heartfelt “thank you” for a job well done. He humbly lives out our mission and values of serving people every day.

Steve has always been able to advance in fields related to his expertise and been able to define all aspects of our industry. He is also a member of the United States Coast Guard Reserve, and proud to serve our country.

After work, Steve is social, playful, helpful and a senior savior. His friendly, outgoing personality makes it easy to listen to one of his great jokes, puns, or comebacks.
