About Hope Academy

Hope Academy was founded in 2000 with a mission to foster hope in God within the inner city neighborhoods of Minneapolis by providing youth with an excellent, faith-based education. Hope measures their impact through spiritual growth, stronger families, increased high school graduation and college acceptance, improved test scores, and community collaboration - the results of which will eventually lead to stronger families and reduction in teen pregnancies, domestic violence, and broken homes.

Virtues such as respect, wisdom, discipline, humility, honesty, and love are being modeled, encouraged, and taught to impact students, families and beyond.

Hope sustains this vision through “Partners”, who sponsor 90% of the cost to educate a student.

The 2300 Chicago Avenue location, previously the old Mount Sinai Hospital building, serves both Hope Academy and Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge. The approximately 200,000 square foot building is purposed for help and hope for the Twin Cities.

Neighborhood

In the heart of the Phillips neighborhood of Minneapolis, Hope is strategically placed to serve inner city families.

The surrounding neighborhoods of Minneapolis are marked by violence, poverty, and social disintegration--realities that, along with a struggling school system, have led to catastrophic educational failure. Hope purposes to bring Hope to the realities of our city.
